Szabolcs Illés (1st violin)

He studied violin at the Ferenc Liszt Academy in Budapest. After his graduation in 1995 he began to specialize in Baroque violin under Dario Luisi (Graz), he took part in many master courses, e. g. by Enrico Gatti, Lucy van Dael and Simon Standage. From 2005 to 2007 he studied Baroque violin by Susanne Scholz at Hochschule für Musik und Theater F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy in Leipzig. In 2009 he finished his Master’s studies at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels under Sigiswald Kuijken. He has been engaged as a leader and soloist by many European orchestras and has recorded several CDs. He also leads summer early music courses in Hungary. Since 2009 he has taken part in the Baroque orchestra La Petite Bande under Sigiswald Kuijken. He lives in Germany where he plays both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. He has been cooperating with Hof-Musici since 2007, since 2008 at its concertmaster.
